Ready to Give My Life for Your Health and Happiness

By Atul Mathur (www.atulmathur.com)

Whats the purpose of your life? Maybe a difficult question for you, but for me it is clear: I am here to help you live a healthier and happier life even if that means giving away my own life. Not a big deal because thats what nature expects from me.

The place where I live in, I cant figure out whether it is day or night, for the lights are always on. And its chilly with temperature around 10° C.

Moreover, my surroundings are messy and crowded with people jostling around, nudging each other with emotionless "pleases" and "excusemes". I see tired husbands holding in their arms babies who cant stop crying, while their wives go on piling up the shopping trolleys with yet another packet of vegetables or frozen parathas or sweets.

I may be a tiny thing but you will soon understand how valuable I can be for your health. My name is Mung Bean Sprouts, and my home is one of the refrigerated shelves in Mustafas vegetable section.

Our family

We are a family of four: Black Gram (Chana) Sprouts, Mixed Bean Sprouts, Moth Sprouts and myself -- Mung Bean Sprouts. We are all naturally grown in Singapore from top quality seeds and then hygienically machine-packed.

We owe our very existence to Health Nutrient Food Enterprises (HNF), Singapore, a company that believed in our nutritional power and decided to offer it to the people of Singapore to help them lead a healthier lifestyle.

Rich guy, poor guy

Normally, people are either rich or poor, but in my case I am both. By natures grace, I am rich in all those things that are good for your health and extremely poor in all that you should avoid.

If you eat a cup (approx. 104 g) of me, you will get 3 g of protein and 23% of daily value of vitamin C. Being a natural, fresh food with high fibre and water content, you will be able to easily digest me. And those worried about weight gain, would be happy to know that I contribute only 30 calories.

On the other hand, I have no cholesterol and fat.

I fear not

Im never afraid even though some people like to eat me raw. Thats the way if you wish to get the best out of me. Many more, however, like to stir-fry me a bit, add some garnishing and then enjoy my crunchy, tasty self. No, I am not shy of my popularity as a quick, tasty and healthy Indian cuisine, but Chinese like me, too. They know me as Nga Choy or Nga Choi.

Have a date with me

I can confidently say on behalf of all of us – the sprout family – that we are blessed to have such a high nutritional value as well as taste. And it is deeply satisfying for us to know that when you eat us, you take a giant step towards living a healthy and happy life.

Open Love Letter from Bean Sprouts

By Atul Mathur (www.atulmathur.com)

Dear Food Lovers,

Besides regular exercises, what’s the other most important thing for living a healthier life? Of course, most of you know the answer: Eat nutritious foods. And yet, the gap between what people know to be good for their health and what they actually eat remains wide.

My name is Mung Bean Sprouts, and I am determined to help you enjoy a healthier and happier life. I may be a tiny, curvy thing but you will soon understand how valuable I can be to your health, energy and overall well-being.

Our family of four

We are a family of four: Black Gram (Chana) Sprouts, Mixed Bean Sprouts, Moth Sprouts and myself -- Mung Bean Sprouts.  We are all naturally grown in Singapore from top quality seeds and then hygienically machine-packed.

We owe our very existence to the Health Nutrient Food Enterprises (HNF), a Singapore-based company that believed in our nutritional power and decided to offer us to the people of Singapore to help them enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

Rich in nutrition, poor in fats and sodium

Normally, people are either rich or poor, but in my case I am both. By nature’s grace, I am rich in all the things that are good for your health and poor in all that you should avoid.

Laboratory tests show that if you eat a cupful of me (approx. 100 g), you will gain 4.1 g of protein and 115 Kcals of energy. And on the other side, you’ll totally avoid trans-fat and cholesterol—both zero in my case.

Being a natural, fresh food with high fibre and water content, you will be able to easily digest me. And those worried about blood pressure, would be happy to know that I am 25% lower in Sodium as compared to regular chilled vegetables.

Isn’t it good for your health if you consume me regularly?

Raw or cooked, doesn’t matter

Some people like to eat me raw. That’s the right way if you wish to get the best nutritional value out of me. But some others like to stir-fry me a bit, adding some garnishing and then enjoying me as a crunchy, tasty snack.

No, I am not shy of my popularity as a quick, tasty and healthy Indian cuisine, but Chinese like me, too. They know me as Nga Choy or Nga Choi.

Have a date with me

I can confidently say on behalf of all of us – the sprout family – that we are blessed to have both high nutritional value as well as taste. And it is deeply satisfying for us to know that when you eat us, you take a giant step towards living a healthier and happier life.

Do you know where to find me?

Next time when you’re at Sri Murugan stores or Mustafa vegetable section, come over and grab me. We are waiting to see you!

Wishing your healthy and long life,

Bean Sprouts
